Tarot Card - The Strength #Maa Durga 

This is one of my favorite cards!  Its number being eight in the deck, this card shows stability but is also a symbol of infinity. It has the visual of a lady wearing white clothes and is seen taming a lion, which has a wide-open mouth. As the white dress symbolizes purity, this card also represents power, courage, determination, self-control and patience- and all these qualities embedded in a woman. As this lion shows the beast in us, the fact that the lady is taming it also demonstrates that she is dealing, very calmy and fearlessly, with a tough situation. Going a level deeper into our analysis of the card’s meaning, we can denote that it depicts the Hindu Goddess, Maa Durga, who fearlessly rides the lion, symbolizing her strength and power to tame the beast within us.   

Having yellow as background, this card also denotes positivity, optimism and hope. What is most interesting in this card is that the lady is standing on a rough floor- showing how she went through tough times but still standing strong! However, the lack of blue color in the card shows a lack of emotion- this maybe so she does not get entangled into emotions which might weaken her in her endeavors. 

Whenever the energy of the universe brings you this card, know that it is time to believe in yourself, to stand up for yourself, even if this means defying your own beliefs and practices. Know that it is time to show bravery, maintain discipline and consistency- like the lady in white, standing up for herself and keeping a good balance between her actions and her emotions. This would also mean that you should trust your intuitive power and let Universe guide you, just like the lion which is letting itself being tamed in the card.
